The pipe collecting world lost a true giant of the industry back on July 16, 2020 when famous maker of Perry White pipes, Bob Swanson, passed away at the age of 73. Swanson had a collection of pipes that were very special pieces as well as being very special to him, and this is one of those pipes from Bob Swanson estate. Further, his family wanted to share these fabulous pieces with the pipe community that Bob so dearly loved and was involved with for many decades. So, they commissioned well known and respected professional pipe refurbisher Steve O'Neill to make sure that these pipes were in showcase condition before offering them to the public.
ITEM DESCRIPTION

This is a wonderfully crafted and very special pipe made by Swanson reserved for his special "Red Sun" series, using incredibly well cured briar. Note all the straight grain and panels on the bowl. And the way Swanson canted the bowl to flow smoothly into a spiraled shank is mystifying! A true work of art by one of the late true legends of American pipe makers! And again, the pipe was professionally cleaned by Steve O'Neill, so rest assured that the pipe is super clean inside and out and the stem has no tooth impressions. Finally, this pipe comes with plush leather Perry White pipe sleeve.
